True Friendship...

Last night, a group of John's friends from college came to our house for dinner. It had been the first time the group had all been together in about six or seven years. John met each of them when he was going to Hannibal LaGrange College. The evening consisted of a lot of catching up, reminiscing, and lots of laughter.

This group of friends met each other some 25 years ago. Each of them have had different life experiences, different life roles. They have had children of their own. Some have stayed in this area, while others have moved many miles and states away. Yet when they are together, it seems they all pick up where they left off. They are a group of friends who complement each other in many ways. They are comfortable enough to tease each other, and they have no problem being honest and open with each other. No one would ever guess this group had not been together for over five years. There are no awkward moments, no times of silence. Their conversations flow freely, and their laughter is contagious. They are lifelong friends, traveling with each other along the journey we call life. They genuinely care about each other, which is evident in many ways. This group is a wonderful example of true friendship!
